Road Trip Quillow

We’re leaving today on a road trip/mini vacation. I’ve been excited about it for weeks (well, months, but especially weeks) and a couple of weeks ago, I saw some awesome fabric (Alexander Henry’s This Land is Your Land) at Hobby Lobby that was just screaming to be made into a road trip blanket.

I decided to make a quillow (a blanket that folds into a pillow) because I have experience making one (sewing class in high school) and it’s really great for traveling because it folds into it’s nice, tidy pouch. This quillow turned out a lot bigger than my other one, which makes it a little harder to fold, but it will be great for using in the car.

The fabric is a little busy, but I love it.

Detail picture of the fabric. A great way to learn states and capitals while you travel!

Gotta Represent
The reverse side is a solid blue fabric, but I had to add a little something to it - representing my home state.

The Pillow Part of My Quillow
All nice and folded into the pillow. This was also my first real attempt at quilting something. It’s random, but I like it.
