We’re getting down to the wire for this year’s Christmas gifts and thankfully I’m wrapping up most of my crafting this weekend (God-willing). Although I’ve enjoyed the challenge, I will be happy when my crazy crafting (and procrastinating) is over.
One thing this Christmas crafting challenge has taught me is my preference in crafting techniques. Although I love unique projects where you learn a new skill, I mostly like the finished product, not so much the process. I’ve spent half the week crouched over on the floor doing this or that, gathering the miscellaneous supplies I’ve collected over the months, and getting frustrated when things don’t come out just right.
But I’ve really liked the crocheting that I’ve done. Crocheting, while it takes a bit for me to get new techniques down, is relatively simple. It’s easy to curl up on the couch with a project and work away while watching tv or chatting with my loving husband. Crocheting can be frogged and started again, if it doesn’t work so well. Yarn is an easy supply to purchase…
So my plans in the new year to extend my crafting are to extend my crochet/knitting skills. I’m hoping to work on some of the great patterns I’ve been eyeing for awhile. I’m excited to try some new things!

I think that’s the thing I love most about crocheting. It’s simple (once you understand the techniques) and you turn out amazing crafts. Happy to hear that you got all your Christmas crafting done. No malls for you! hehe.

That was one thing that was wonderful this year. No fighting the stores (well, other than Hobby Lobby). It felt weird a bit though. Every time I went somewhere I felt like I needed to be looking for gifts.
