Mattress Shopping

March 29, 2008

Well it’s obvious that awhile back I fell off the picture a day thing. I’m trying again to hop back on so we’ll see how long it lasts!

Mattress Shopping

On a bit of a recap, we settled on an offer for the house, so if home inspections and a couple of other things go through, we will be home owners before May! That’s so crazy to think. I’m trying not to get too bonded to the house in case one of those things does go wrong, but if everything is a go I’ll let you all know more about it!

Anyways, since it’s possible that we might be homeowners here soon, we started shopping today for a new mattress. There’s nothing wrong with our mattress that we got a year ago, except for the fact that we just can’t fit well on a queen bed. Apparently I am a…bit of a bed hog during the night. Just a bit of course. :-) We’ve decided that since we’ll have some extra money from the government this year that we weren’t expecting, it’s time to go ahead and upgrade to a new, king sized mattress. We’re hoping this will help us get a good nights sleep, like we get when we stay in nice king sized hotel beds… Having a nice night’s sleep and waking somewhat rested? That would be AMAZING.

So yes, tonight we started the shopping around process. I hate dealing with the typical salesperson. You know the type. Friendly as can be until you tell them that you’re not going to buy anything right at that moment. We had one of those tonight. Seriously, he only had three minutes he had to be nice until we left the store and we would’ve come back and bought that mattress from him. Would that have been so hard? His loss.

Yea for more pictures!! Don’t beat yourself up. Even if you start now and last a week… that’s more than you would’ve taken and posted! (But I hope it lasts longer than a week anyway)

Sorry about the sales people. I figure everyone has their flaws, I know this, but people that only care about sales… Gah - it just.. it’s very different than how I process things I think so it’s hard on me! haha. I still try to love the person but that mannerism is just not easy for me to take so I’m sorry for ya!

Scott and I shared a full size bed for almost 2 years, and you know how big Scott is! I went about 7 months into my prenancy with Emma sleeping on about 1 foot of space! Luckily we got a king size given to us, and now I don’t even know Scott is there! I still don’t get a good night’s sleep because of getting up with babies or being generally uncomfortable with the pregnancy. Oh well. Good luck!

    Shelly -

Wow! I bet that was a tight squeeze for you two. Yeah, we thought a queen would be fine for awhile, but it’s just not working for us. We’re looking forward to getting a king!

After being forced to push Old Navy Cards on people at work (its true they tried to make us sign these pledge sheets) I understand how important it is to get the sale but still that is no excuse to be a jackhole to the customers

p.s. after living on the boat and my two foot wide rack I need much room to myself.
